Why Exhibit Design?

Have you ever been to Epcot Center at Disney World? Or a World's Fair? What about an Auto or Boat Show? The environments created for these events were conceived, designed and fabricated by exhibit design companies. Communicating a product, service or corporate message through an interactive environment is the goal of exhibit design. Trade shows are an important marketing tool for corporations, more than six billion dollars are spent annually on trade shows in North America alone.

The field is a fun, fast-paced and well-paid career option for design students, combining knowledge of three-dimensional and graphic design with computer and marketing skills. Classes in exhibit design are only beginning to be taught in design schools today, so exhibit designers typically have backgrounds which include a wide variety of design disciplines, such as industrial design, architecture, interior design, graphics and theatrical design. Strong creative skills, the ability to work independently - and as part of a team - are essential.

Exhibit design is a challenging and rewarding career opportunity, so check it out!
